King of the Ring IV 11/9/02

And so the story begins....

We had a great trip and it was an excellent show!!!

You all should be very proud of Jeremy and Bill because the represented themselves incredibly.

Jeremy was the 3rd fight of the night and he fought a VERY tough guy... His guy cut weight to make 185 and just barely made it. He was ripped muscle and from what I understand he usually walks around at 220!!!

Jeremy weighed in at 179 because he has been dropping weight like crazy during training. There definitely was a huge size difference.

Once they were in the ring together, 99% of the people there didn't give Jeremy a chance because of the size difference (the only people that did were his team members).

As soon as the bell rang, they went toe to toe. Jeremy got the better of an exchange that seemed to last 30 seconds and he finally wobbled the guy with a right hand. The guy knew he had to get it to the ground because he was in trouble!

They clinched up and Jeremy's opponent was able to get him to the ground and establish side mount. Being from a good grappling school (Machado affiliate) he looked very calm there. He worked many submission but Jeremy was able to counter them all.

Jeremy tried to escape side mount and they ended up in a scramble, which caused him to get fully mounted. Jeremy stayed relaxed for awhile and kept bucking to avoid the punches. Eventually, his opponent used his strength to trap an arm and go for an armbar. Jeremy nearly cleared his head but in the end the guy got him.

It was a very tough fight and a great first fight for Jeremy. Rumor has it that his opponent already had 4 fights (didn't tell the promoter) so I think that's even more reason Jeremy should get all of the credit in the world. He did a great job!!

Bill's fight was the 8th fight and it was one of the four main events. He fought a Thai fighter from Thailand that did a traditional Thai dance in the ring for almost as long as the fight lasted

He was also 145lbs of ripped muscle, while Bill weighed in at 140.

This was one hell of a fight!! The Thai guy came out throwing vicious right leg kicks and Bill took them all. However, Bill started to work his way back into it quickly with some good left low kicks and hands.

They clinched a few times right of the bat but Bill was intense and over powered the guy (his grappling came into play). Bill had two or three nice knees in the clinch and also threw the guy across the ring when things started getting physical.

Bill's front kick started to land and he caught the guy nicely in the chest a couple of times and knocked him across the ring.

The guy fought back though and threw some nice combos with his hands, etc. He also seemed to figure out Bill's front kick and started catching it every time Bill threw it. From there he would try to take out Bill's planting leg but Bill was able to clinch and keep from being swept.

The round ended and it was very tough to call... Even after the fight, no one was completely sure who won the round.

We made some adjustments during the break and they started paying of big time!!

Bill came out and through his front kick right to the face of his opponent and it landed squarely. He followed up with some 1-2's and made an impact.

They traded a few more times but Bill started landing his front kick to the guys face regularly and it finally sunk in when he caught him with another shot (a kick or a right to the head) that sent the guy spinning. He wobbled around and eventually went down. He got back up after an 8 count and Bill pounced on him. Bill landed some good kicks but wasn't able to finish it before the bell sounded.

Bill got back to his corner and we were making more adjustments.... The bell sounded and the referee alerted us that Bill's opponent was unable to continue. Bill won his first "professional" Thai fight by TKO in the 2nd round!! this brings him to 2-0 with 2 KO's!!

You guys would be proud of both of them and I can't wait to see the tape! It should be here in two weeks.

Now for the pictures!

We were not allowed to take pictures during the fights but the girls were able to sneak a few of them any way!
